WINTER CULTURAL GUIDE

December is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful months of the year. The period of preparation for the Christmas time, baking gingerbread, decorating Christmas tree and priceless time spent with family and friends. But there are many possibilities, which will help us take even more of that time. I know that in many places where you live the white fluff commonly known as snow had a chance to appear (I still firmly believe that it will snow in London this year) so you probably do not need anything more to boost your happiness. However, as in every new season, I prepared for you a small cultural guide which I sincerely would like to invite you to! :)

. . . .

Grudzień to bez wątpienia jeden z piękniejszych miesięcy w roku. Okres przygotowań do świąt, pieczenie pierników, strojenie choinki i przede wszystkim bezcenny czas spędzony w gronie rodziny i przyjaciół.

Time for ice-skating

When I was living in Poland, the ice-rink was an indispensable part of every winter. With eager I used to wait for the opening time, so along with friends we could enjoy and share that moment. Without a doubt, festive aura and falling snow added this activity even more magic! For many years after I moved to England, I didn’t have a chance to go ice-skating. Every year I told myself that this season I will go for sure, but the years passed and I still kept saying the same thing. This year, I have decided to stop this routine of repeating myself over and over again and at end of November I started the ice-skating season from buying his first pair figure skates, which I already has a chance to test! I must confess that to my surprise after seven-year of break I rode as if I have never stopped :)

There is many ice rinks in London itself. So if like me you love this sport, I recommend you an ice rink, which is located in Somerset House. Historical building and a large Christmas tree add even more charm to this place. Just remember to make a reservation in advance! :)

Winter Wonderland

Christmas market, ice-rink, carousel, frosty bar and even a shooting range where you can win a plush stuffed animals both big ones and the little one and all of that can happen in the London’s Winter Wonderland. Personally I visit this place every year and it always makes the same impression on me. Aura of upcoming Christmas is particularly felt in this place and I do not know if it's a matter of Christmas songs, Santa Claus and his elf who are waiting on every corner or maybe mulled wine, which effectively warms up during a walk between every attraction :).

Winter Wonderland is located in the Hyde Park-u.

Zimowe miasteczko

Dalloway Terrace

When I saw this place on Instagram, I was very surprised that I have never heared about this place before. The cozy restaurant, which in the winter turned his interior into "Narnia" as Rosie from The Londoner’s blog described it. Later that day I grabbed the phone to make a reservation, but this beautiful decoration and good location made that they don’t have tables available for the weekend until February! Therefore, if you plan your visit, I recommend you any day of the week in January. P.S. Remember to make reservations as soon as possible! :)

Dalloway Terrace Restaurant is located on the street 16-22 Great Rusell Street, Fizrovia, London.

Dolloway Terrace

Dlatego jeżeli planujecie swoje odwiedziny to polecam wam któryś dzień tygodnia w styczniu. P.S. Pamiętajcie aby jak najszybciej zrobić rezerwację! :)

Restauracja Dolloway Terrace zlokalizowana jest przy ulicy 16-22 Great Rusell Street, Fizrovia, Londyn.

The red shoes

"The Red Shoes" by Matthew Bourne is-a Hollywood classic, which was nominated for an Oscar where he eventually won two statuettes. In addition, the same year he also won a Golden Globe. The movie premiere took place in 1948. After almost 70 years since the release of the film, Terry Davis, along with Hollywood composer Bernard Hermann created the art, which is now played in the Sadler's Wells Theatre in London.

Clos Maggiore

If you are looking for a cozy yet romantic place for dinner for two, then Clos Maggiore seems to be the place. Dark leather interior with a strong accent, which nevertheless has in itself the hidden souls located in the central hall with suspended flowers and a large fireplace, which is the essence of the whole design. Just like in the case of other places, it is worth to make a reservation a little bit earlier :).

The restaurant itself is located at 33 King Street, Covent Garden, London

Clos Maggiore
