FOTOGRAFIA WAKACYJNA, CZYLI JAK SPRAWIĆ ABY PODRÓŻNICZE ZDJĘCIA BYŁY PIĘKNIEJSZE
One of the topics that most often appear in the questions from you, concerns my pictures. As a real amateur of photography, I am happy that my ordinary photos arouse interest. Over the years, both since I have been running a blog, but also long before that, photography was one of my greatest passions. All skills and knowledge gained in this topic, however, is fully due to trial and mistakes. I am rather a type of person who will do something until he masters the art. Today's post will not be a professional guide from an eye of an experienced photographer, but the insights of an ordinary girl who, like many of you, tries to capture beautiful photos as a holiday souvenir. You will find here some useful and practical tips that work best for me. Those interested in more technical side of how I edit photos I refer to the previous article in this topic - link.
In preparation for today's post, I began to analyse what is important to me and what I would like to convey to help you create these unusual holiday photos. I realized that one of the basic mistakes I made was to wait for the right place, time, or a beautiful holiday in a picturesque place, which would effortlessly paint a picture as it would be published in a travel magazine. Family albums, memories of holidays are primarily emotions and joy that accompanies the people immortalized on them. A weekend trip to grandma, or a family escapade under a tent is also an ideal base for the greatest photography. The heart of every photo is people, not places. It's enough to know a few additional factors to make every place a perfect place for photos. Many of the tips that I will mention today, will be useful even in everyday photography, because in the end, big moments arise when we least expect them :)
1. Look for the right places before you go.
Traveling opens new opportunities for us and gives plenty of outdoor locations for photos. However, it is not always that what looks beautiful in our eyes will look good in the picture and vice versa. Not only that, going on a trip without a previously prepared trip plan, we will lose a lot of opportunities to visit the most attractive places and make beautiful photographic memories. Before each trip, I carefully plan exactly what places I want to visit, so that I can schedule every day well to use it to the maximum. I create on the laptop an exact list with place names and addresses, which, firstly, will save me a lot of time while already there, and secondly as you know, the Internet on holidays often leaves much to be desired. It is better to spare yourself unnecessary nerves, unable to find the address of a place. It also allows me to perfectly plan what time I should be there, in what outfit to match the surroundings and analyse the landscape under the photo circumstances. The above-mentioned tactics will help you discover places that you probably would not find yourself.
2. Light is the key to success.
Light is one of the basic factors without which our pictures are not meant to exist. I dare to use a comparison that light is as important for photos as water for a human being. I will advise all of those who are ready for sacrifices to use the golden hour, that is, an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset. The summer season has it all to the effect that the sun is very strong and with wrong camera settings, we simply ruin our pictures. However, it is difficult to postpone taking photographs for a full day, so the key is to always take pictures in the sun or in the shade - never half a half (exception to this rule is partial shading, for example sun rays coming through the leaves of trees that will nicely warm up the photo). When deciding to visit cities, it is also worth considering an early wake-up call to capture its climate in the morning. The photos will be incomparable in this case. Perfectly diffused warm light, no crowds of tourists or cars, which will allow us to fully show the character of the place.

These two photos are the perfect example of the role of light. The photo on the left was taken in the evening after the end of the famous golden hour, which is less than an hour before sunset with a large number of tourists in the background. The photo on the right was taken a little over an hour after sunrise, which gave the perfect warm light and almost no tourists in the background.
3. Create and interpret, in the end it's your photos.
There are no ready canons that would impose the way we should take a holiday photo. The pictures are a souvenir, a stoppage of the moment thanks to which in ten years we will be able to remember them. Do not be afraid to create your own photographic stories. The photos do not have to be boring and you, as a model, do not have to stand on each picture with a sticky smile. Dance, run along the seashore, look to the camera with the sexiest pose or behave as if there is no camera. It is important that you are yourself and the pictures will do themselves. Remember also that the Internet is full of places where we can find beautiful holiday photos. Save it to your inspiration folder the ones you like best and treat them like a signpost for your own photos. The best place for this is undoubtedly Pinterest (which by the way I love and I have many folders with inspiration - in search of several holiday photos, take a look here - link) and Instagram. Both of these platforms allow you to create folders in which we will keep all the pictures that we would like to recreate on another occasion.
Remember, however, that holidays are above all an opportunity to spend time together and photos are a form of capturing the joy that accompanies us. So try to look at the pictures with the eyes of the imagination. I always look carefully at the place around me imagining what will look good. Often the situations themselves bring my frame under the eyes like for example my husband, who stands against the background of ancient houses looking at me with a smile on his face, who does not know that he will become the hero of this photo in a moment :). Choose backgrounds that are less crowded. It's hard to spot emotions or feelings accompanying a given moment when there is more heroes of the third plan than we can cover with our eyes.
4. Plan appropriate outfits.
I would lie if I said that our appearance does not matter. The colour consistency of photos is half the success of good photography. It is therefore worth fitting the outfit to the occasion and place so that its character, form and colour harmonize with the surroundings. Both in photography and in fashion, the statement "what is too much is not healthy" is by no means correct. Planning therefore does not only concern the trip plan, but also the clothes you take with you. Mandatory in the suitcase will be a white dress, which will suit any outdoor. When choosing clothes, it is worth adjusting them to the prevailing season of the year. Summer holidays immediately remind me of beautiful airy dresses in friendly colours, marine style, well known to you stripes, straw hat as an addition and of course the perfect sunglasses. Contrary to appearances, a beach towel / blanket plays an equally important role. Try to choose one that will perfectly match your swimsuit and will not be too dappled. White, beige, or just stripes on a towel will work perfectly.
5. The best camera does not have to be expensive.
Some people often say that good photos are due to expensive equipment. If that were the case, then even the biggest amateur should make amazing pictures. Why, then, do I have a completely different impression? It is said that a talented chef will even do something delicious out of nothing. The same applies to photography, so as long as we do not plan to have our photos compete for the best holiday postcard, then any camera we have will be suitable. As you eat, however, your appetite is growing, so with the expansion of our skills it is worth investing in better equipment and it does not necessarily have to be a DSLR camera. Heavy cameras reliably discourage taking them and meanwhile I am the most satisfied with my small and light Olympus, which, incidentally, I bought in a used hardware store, which saved quite a lot of cash. The quality of photos from the camera will always be incomparable to the phone, and the amount of technical possibilities gives us a greater advantage, thanks to which such a photography will be more vivid and saturated with deep colours. It is worth adjusting the equipment to our needs. If you want to fill your memory with photos to your family album, the phone will also pass the exam.
Determination, however, causes that when we travel, we always have an army of different cameras with us. Determinacja powoduje jednak, że kiedy podróżujemy, zawsze mamy ze sobą armię różnych aparatów. |
6. Remember about feelings, they create pictures.
All the above-mentioned tips will not guarantee authentic photos if there are no people and emotions on them. The most beautiful frames usually have nothing to do with previous meticulous planning. What's more, most of the photos are taken unconsciously, which show the truth about their heroes. A passionate kiss, a tender touch, a look that's what makes our own history of photography.
Jakiego Olympusa używasz, Moniko? :)

UsuńUwielbiam Twoje zdjęcia! Super wpis o fotografowaniu!
OdpowiedzUsuńDziękuje, bardzo mi miło! :))
Buziaki, Magda
Bardzo dziękuje kochana ;*
UsuńCoś w tym jest. Naturalność zawsze dobrze wychodzi :)
Buziaki!
Lubie takie wpisy.
Pozdrawiam!
